Why now?

If you’ve asked that question, I’m sure you’re not the only one. Why would I travel around the United States in the middle of a pandemic? Why wouldn’t I wait? My answer may not be a quick fix that will make you feel better, but I do hope the honesty in my words will give you some understanding and peace.

Why now?

Jesus went to the greatest need. In Luke 5 Jesus broke the rules of the day by touching a man with leprosy. He touched the man and healed him. He didn’t fear that he would get sick. He didn’t hesitate to provide what the man needed. He just trusted His Father.

Why now?

Our nation has many needs and I know the only thing that will ever bring complete healing and salvation is Jesus. So, my question is, why not now? People are searching for truth, so why wouldn’t I take this opportunity?

In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Why now?

I’m safer following where God leads than anywhere I go on my own. I’m not worried because I know where I’m spending eternity. And in the big picture, this life is very short compared to eternity.

Psalm 37:23-24 The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

I don’t know what I will experience over the next months, I don’t know what kind of trials I will face, but I do know that when I stumble, the Lord will be right there with me. And I rest in that.
