Back in July during our week of training the Lord was highlighting fire and wind over and over again…

Through verses: “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.”??Exodus? ?13:21-22? ?

As the time approached for Awakening in Washington, wildfires were spreading across Oregon and California. Read about our time in Washington in a blog written by the woman who had a vision about World Race America years ago and has been praying and fasting for our country: https://teresamcmillan.theworldrace.org/post/wild-fire-smoke-from-west-coast-could-be-felt-in-europethats-an-awakening

Here is a poem I wrote at the end of debrief and Awakening:

3 vans

21 people

Apart, yet united

Following clouds

Spreading fire

Never stopping for long

Just enough time to

Light a match

Or fan a flame

When the gentle wind blows

We know it’s time

To keep running

The race

Set before us

Our last night of awakening someone approached me that I’ve only had a handful of conversations with. He asked how much I had left to fundraise and then said he’d be right back. As worship was starting he came back with a box in his hand and sat down next to me. He explained that he had been saving up for something fun and every time he received tips at work, he would put them in the box. He didn’t know the exact dollar amount, but he wanted me to have it. He encouraged me and told me God had me here for a reason and he never wanted me to doubt that. I was speechless and couldn’t think of anything to say except, “thank you.”

We’ve moved on to our next location and are in Las Vegas until October 1st. We are staying at a YWAM base, patterning with multiple ministries, and keeping our eyes open to how God is moving and working here. We’re halfway done and time is flying by!

Because of the generosity of so many of you and the man in Washington, I’m only $248 away from being fully funded! After I become fully funded, I’ll need minimal support over the next 2 months to help me pay for health insurance, toiletries, medications, and food. I’m continuing a 40 day social media fast until October 24th and would love for you to spread the word about my blog and fundraisers!

Starting October 1st I will be partnering with Keys For The Journey. I partnered with them last year and everyone loved this fundraiser! You can request a word or verses  ask them to pray for a word and be surprised when it comes in the mail (this is my favorite)! The key is a reminder that you are walking through growth in that area with the Lord. At the end of that season, you pass it on to someone else. Starting in October you can order by going to this link as selecting my name from the drop down: https://www.keysforthejourney.com

To help me become fully funded, donations can be made directly on my blog: Laurenwatts.theworldrace.org

To donate directly:

Thank you for your continued support and prayers!

  1. So good!!
Also I can’t believe Rest on Us our song fire and wind would you do it again open up the gates let Heaven on in!
I love the part of your poem about us lighting a match or fanning a flame that is soooo on point. Also I’m telling you from training the verse that was sticking out to me was those born of the Spirit from where they come and where they go is a mystery, like the wind! And Andrew brought that up as well at debrief. What an adventure and how cool it is for God to confirm it al through Caleb how much God wants you, is using you here

  2. Sounds to me like you are experiencing your own personal 2 Timothy 1:6. Keep fanning that flame within you that is lighting up the world! Love you much!

  3. What a beautiful poem!

This is such a wonderful testimony of the Lord’s provision and grace as we follow in obedience. My students have enjoyed listening to some old school “Earth, Wind, and Fire” recently — now when we listen to that I will be thinking of you!

    Sending love and hugs!
